Delicious or dangerous eatables? Judge yourself........

I often used to complain or fight with my mom for not giving me delicious or tasty food (even though she did!). For me the word "delicious" meant the crap that we got in our roadside stalls or cheap, ill maintained hotels. I was fed-up of eating the same old Chapatis, Rotis and Ragi Balls (these are different kind of balls meant to be eaten - not to play, :)) cooked and served by my mom. On any given day most of the people who live by themselves or students who live in hostel or for that matter anybody who is deprived of home food would eat them like a hungry dog. But me, as I had everything, right from my own outhouse to a brand new bike saw this home made food as a tasteless **it? For me, what I would eat outside in a Snackbar would taste like a real food.

As this scene of me *issing my mom off for good food continued everyday, this very unfortunate incident took place. One day around 5:00 pm in the evening I received a call from my friends dad and he gave me this news (nah, not some breaking news!), but some serious dose that he (my friend) has been hospitalized and is in a very critical situation. I was really shocked, for the sole reason that we all were together that previous day (one day before my friend was hospitalized) and had a great time. We had eaten a lot of vada paav, egg rice and some other *hit to our hearts content. I immediately left my home for the hospital and on my way home I was immersed in thoughts that what can be the reason for him (my friend) to be in such a critical situation, when he was hale and hearty.

I reached hospital around 6:00 pm and quickly inquired about his ward number and went there. As I entered the room, I was welcomed by the weeping sound of my friends mom. I talked with my friend's father and later was shell shocked to know the reason. Wanna know the reason? Here it is..............

He had a small stone in his kidney and the reason was serious food infection due to all the *hit we used to eat all these days. Can you believe this? I was totally paralyzed (no, not for him?), but for myself. I was very afraid that I may be the next victim of this new devil (i.e unhygienic eatables that we eat outside) and even I would be sacrificed? (I mean hospitalized!!!). But with God's grace, after a small operation and a few weeks of rest, my friend recovered and came back to his normal zing. This incident rocked me to my roots and was like an eye-opener for me. And, since then I've stopped eating outside and eat (with my mouth shut=without a single complaint) whatever my mom cooks for me. So, now the news (breaking news) is I LIKE home made food and I enjoy eating at home (Home Sweet Home).................

So, guys 'n' gals, what I say is "Eat What You Get"..........................................................................
